Take a look at the following and see if you identify with any of these statements.
- I feel worthless or invisible?
- I am a negative thinker and are often overcome by fears of the future.
- I am battling with the transitions of life, e.g. the loss of a loved one or the loss of a job.
- I am stuck in a rut and I don’t know how to get out of it. I am mostly unhappy with my life and I need a change.
- I need to improve my self-esteem and confidence.
- I need to improve my relationship with myself.
Negative childhood experiences and have a lasting effect.
If you were frequently criticized by your parents, caregivers or others, you are likely to lose your sense of self-worth and eventually feel like you are “invisible”.
You see negative events as ‘your own fault’ and whenever you experience a serious setback, your perception of yourself changes to feeling worthless. Your sense of worthlessness and your constant negative thinking creates distress which makes it difficult to manage daily tasks.
You cannot live a happy and fulfilling life when your belief systems are programmed to negative thinking.
You are only as strong as the skill set that you have. You need a new, upgraded skill set!
